You, the holy one of God, what would you know about being two?
Hold thy peace and come out of him,
He is not insane and is not unclean.
He has no devil, no evil of any kind.
Can’t you hear, God is saying, he is mine!
Was he that way from birth or did his heart get broken,
By some deed of unkindness that brought on such confusion?
To the Master it didn’t matter one way or the other,
He knew man’s soundness to be of God, the Father-Mother.
Then Jesus spoke right to the insanity,
To that state of thought keeping him from being free.
Come out of him! You have no place to fill.
Spirit fills all space, and there’s no other will.
Then he fell to the ground as if he’d been thrown.
But he was not hurt and all evil thought was gone.
And the people, so amazed, said what a word is this and what power.
He commands the unclean spirits and they come out this very hour!
Hold thy peace and come out of him,
He is not insane and is not unclean.

Can’t you hear God is saying, he is mine!

The only thing that counts with God are humble hearts that seek--

God doesn’t have a count of all the times that we’ve confessed
The only thing that counts with God is doing what’s professed,
For consciousness of God as all, is all that’s nobleness.
God doesn’t love us more because we’ve come to church today.
God doesn’t love us less at any time in any way.
The only thing that counts with God is feeling what we pray--
And childlike trust that hears God’s word and simply will obey.
Oh we pray in sweet communion to be merciful and just.
We pray as vital breath and we feel Love comfort us.
We pray without agenda, not to get, but since we must,
For ceaseless prayer in Spirit is all You’ve asked of us.
All that counts is loving God and God is loving us.

In May of 2001 a small group of people began holding Christian Science Sunday services on the south side of St. Louis. It was a precious group of people, and Susan, a Christian Science practitioner, decided to drag out her old guitar and write some church solos.
