1.
Kingdom of Heaven Words: Susan Booth Mack Snipes Music: Carey Loomis Chorus We don't have to earn perfection, We don't have to toil in fear. We don't have to enter heaven, For we are already there. Not just by saying Lord, Lord, Do we get to the kingdom of heaven. But by letting this mind be in us as in Christ, The blessing is already given Chorus He who tries to get from here to there, ls like a man who builds on sand. When the storms of earth come crashing in, His thoughts will never stand. Chorus But he who starts and stays with God ls like a man who builds on rock. When the storms of earth come crashing in, His thoughts cannot be shocked. Let's build upon the rock. Let God give our every thought. Heaven isn't over there. God's peace unfolds everywhere. Chorus We don't have to earn perfection, We don't have to toil in fear. We don't have to enter heaven, For we are already here.

Abide In Me 03:35
Abide In Me Words & music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes I am faithful, and I'm calling you To fellowship, in Christ. Your joy is full as the boundless sea In the knowledge I am Life. Chorus Abide in Me, abide in Me As the branch in the vine. As the Son in the Father--forever one, You are always mine. I am the light and you are the shine, There is no darkness in Us. My constant companioning self-delight, My holy selflessness. Chorus Bridge You are My beloved one. I am pleased with you. There is nothing I would change. You're perfect through and through. Chorus Listen to the voice you've always heard That's always voicing good. Nothing comes between Us, child And nothing ever could. Bridge Chorus As the Son in the Father--forever one, You are always mine.
3.
Melchizedek 03:34
Melchizedek Words & music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the most high God Met Abraham from battle, and blessed him there. Then Abraham gave a tenth part of all that he had, In praise and atonement, of oneness with God. Chorus Without father, without mother, without descent, Without beginning of mortal days nor life that could ever end; But man that is made like the son of God, abiding continually. We are ever priests of Love, hid with Christ in God. It is evident that our Lord sprang out of Judah’s tribe, The tribe of no priesthood, of oneness with God; For the law made nothing perfect, but a better hope did, By the which we draw nigh to God as Jesus lived. Chorus No more priesthood, through another to attain. No more priesthood, but one with God remain. One with Christ, the king of peace, The order of Melchizedek shall never cease. Chorus We are ever priests of Love… We are ever priests of Love, hid with Christ in God.
4.
He That Is Without Sin Words & Music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes Early in the morning, before the break of day, He went into the temple to worship and to pray. All the people followed and came to him, He sat down in their midst and taught them. Chorus He that is without sin let him cast a stone. Why do you judge each other? As brethren ye are one. Innocent and perfect, God’s image in kind, Pure, unadulterated children of one Mind. The scribes and the Pharisees, jealous of the throng Were looking to accuse, to prove him wrong. They brought to him a woman taken in adultery. “Moses said STONE!, but what saist thee? Chorus Jesus stooping down as though he heard them not, His finger tracing thoughtfully words in the dust. Continuing to press him to answer their request He lifted up himself and let this challenge do the rest. Chorus Again, stooping down, he wrote on the ground. Their conscience bade them leave, one by one. Beginning at the eldest, even to the last, Till Jesus was alone, with the woman in the midst. Woman, where is thine accuser? Hath no man condemned thee? No man Lord. Go and sin no more! Neither do I condemn thee. Chorus Pure, unadulterated children of one Mind.
5.
The Man in the Synagogue Words & music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes Did he spot Christ at once or did it take some time To see through the fog that troubled his mind? That raging anguish that hung like a cloud On that man so possessed in the synagogue. He cried out when he saw him, O let us alone, As if there were many selves for whom he spoke. Are you coming to destroy us, what would we have to do with you? You, the holy one of God, what would you know about being two? Hold thy peace and come out of him, He is not insane and is not unclean. He has no devil, no evil of any kind. Can’t you hear, God is saying, he is mine! Was he that way from birth or did his heart get broken, By some deed of unkindness that brought on such confusion? To the Master it didn’t matter one way or the other, He knew man’s soundness to be of God, the Father-Mother. Then Jesus spoke right to the insanity, To that state of thought keeping him from being free. Come out of him! You have no place to fill. Spirit fills all space, and there’s no other will. Then he fell to the ground as if he’d been thrown. But he was not hurt and all evil thought was gone. And the people, so amazed, said what a word is this and what power. He commands the unclean spirits and they come out this very hour! Hold thy peace and come out of him, He is not insane and is not unclean. He has no devil, no evil of any kind. Can’t you hear God is saying, he is mine! He is mine!
6.
Eutychus 04:07
Eutychus Words & music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes Upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together, Paul preached until midnight for he'd leave on the morrow. There were many lights a blazin' in that upper chamber room, But the light of the Christ, well it brightened their gloom. Light of the Christ, it brightened their gloom, It brightened, well it brightened their gloom. Chorus Trouble not yourselves, for his life is in him, You thought that Jesus died, but he rose again. Trouble not yourselves. Life's above the sod. Be comforted my friend 'cause all life is in God. Life is in God, yes all life is in God, all life, well all life is in God. Now there sat in a window a young man named Eutychus, And before the night was over he'd created quite a fuss. Fell asleep in the window, as the preaching went on and on, He slumped down in slumber, he fell three floors down. Three floors down, he fell three floors down, three, three floors down. Chorus Trouble not yourselves, for his life is in him. You may think that he is dead, but he'll rise again. Trouble not yourselves. Life's above the sod. Be comforted my friend 'cause his life is in God. Life is in God. All life is in God. His life, well his life is in God. Paul went down and embraced that boy that was dead. He was sure that all was well, so he went up to break bread. He preached until daybreak, and left as he had planned, And that young man came alive, so they all could understand. All understand, yes all did understand, all, well they all understand. Chorus In the pathway of life are the issues from death. We shall not die but we shall live again. Trouble not yourselves, your life is in God. Be comforted my friend ’cause your life is in God. Your life is in God, yes your life is in God, All life, well your life is in God.

Sweet Brother Saul Words & music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes He was a man on a mission-- a mission of hatred His goal to kill the Christians-- see men and women all dead. He went to the priest to get letters--letters to Damascus So if he found any Christians in that way, he could murder them. Chorus Brother Saul, sweet Brother Saul, Your work was misguided, but the Christ comes to all. Transforming thought--till our nature becomes Paul, Redeeming, baptizing us, delivering one and all. Saul it is hard for you to kick against the pricks. Despite threats and slaughter your redemption comes quick. I am the light of the Christ that will blind you just now, But fear not nor be dismayed, for only good will I allow. As he journeyed along, then he saw a great light. He fell to the earth as a voice said with might. Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? Who are you Lord, please show yourself, for I cannot see. Chorus Trembling and astonished, he asked, what should I do? Arise, go to the city--you’ll be told what you must do! And the men who were with him, oh, they heard the voice too! But they could see no one speaking, so who it was they never knew. They led him by the hand--he was three days without sight. He prayed and did wait, without food, or drink, or light, But he’d had a vision of a man--a man he knew would come. Ananias was his name, the Christian who would heal him. Chorus Faithful Ananias-- he too had been listening-- Overcame his fear of Saul, while steadfastly praying. For the Lord said, fear not, this is my chosen vessel, To bear forth my name, before all of the Gentiles. Ananias came in, laid his hands upon Saul, Said I’ve been sent by the Christ, your sight to restore. You are filled now with the Holy Ghost, and immediately Paul could see. His new mission then to declare the Christ, the son of God that makes men free. Redemption standing tall. Redemption you are whole. Redemption is His call. Redemption for us all!
8.
O Little Church Words & music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes O little church, here on the beach, Your spire pointing to the skies, You’ve stood so long through wind and wave, No storm of fear can compromise. Chorus Hold fast the real, the enduring good and true Because you know God is holding you. Your faith is firm, forever safe, not built on shifting sands But on the rock, the word of God that stands. When all about there is dismay, The threat of loss would overwhelm. Contagious fear broadcast so wide, But still our God is at the helm. Chorus This island home is secure, Can’t be cut off or shut down, it will endure. Oh.. Chorus. You’re on the rock, each held within God’s hands.

Here O God 01:59
Here O God Words: Maria Louise Baum, from the “Christian Science Hymnal” © 1932 renewed 1960, The Christian Science Board of Directors Music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes Here, O God, Thy healing presence Lifts our thoughts from self and sin, Fills with light their hidden places When Thy love is welcomed in. Here Thy tender sweet persuasions Turn us home to heavenly ways, While our hearts unsealed, adoring, Pour the fragrance of Thy praise. Reverent lives unveil Thy beauty, Faithful witness bear of Thee; Binding up the broken hearted, We reflect Thy radiancy. So may deeper consecration Show Thee forth in healing’s sign, Till through joyful self-surrender We in Love’s pure likeness shine. We in Love’s pure likeness shine.
10.
All That Counts Words & music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes God doesn’t know our rituals or holy days we keep. God doesn’t care what clothes we wear or special foods we eat. The only thing that counts with God are humble hearts that seek-- Patience, courage, love, good deeds--living that is meek. God doesn’t make us qualify in order to be blessed. God doesn’t have a count of all the times that we’ve confessed The only thing that counts with God is doing what’s professed, For consciousness of God as all, is all that’s nobleness. God doesn’t love us more because we’ve come to church today. God doesn’t love us less at any time in any way. The only thing that counts with God is feeling what we pray-- And childlike trust that hears God’s word and simply will obey. Oh we pray in sweet communion to be merciful and just. We pray as vital breath and we feel Love comfort us. We pray without agenda, not to get, but since we must, For ceaseless prayer in Spirit is all You’ve asked of us. All that counts is loving God and God is loving us.
11.
Ruth 03:47
Ruth Words & music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes A widow's tears fresh on Ruth's face, no one to care for her. Naomi, her husband's mother, had nothing left to share. Go home to Moab, to your kin, Naomi said. I'm going back to Bethlehem, my husband too is dead. Chorus Entreat me not to leave thee, please tell me not to go. The God you serve is in my heart. This God alone is Soul. For God is watching over us, we're held in constant care. We'll journey on together, for Love is everywhere. Naomi went to Bethlehem and Ruth stayed right beside-- Taking care of one another's needs, they closely did abide. Arriving when barley harvest ripened full of grain. I'll go, said Ruth, out in the field, the scattered corn to glean. Chorus Ruth gleaned in the fields, picking kernels at her feet, Tiny grains, but precious, for the women both to eat. Noami's kin Boaz heard about Ruth's kindly deed. He asked if he could marry her for love had taken seed. The love Naomi showed to Ruth had won a daughter's heart. The love Ruth showed to God in turn gave both a hopeful start. The love that Boaz felt for Ruth provided for all three. And like the ripples in a pond, provides for you and me. Chorus We'll journey on together, for Love is everywhere.
12.
O Send Out Thy Light Words & music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes I heard a great voice out of heaven. It said the temple of God is with men. And He'll dwell with us and we with Him In an endless state of union. Chorus O send out Thy light and Thy truth, Let them lead me, let them lead me. For You are my health, my peace, my life, Show me the path of life freely. There will be no more pain, And all tears will be wiped away. Neither sin, disease nor death are in God, Those things must pass away. Chorus These things I sing out in praise For my joy is surely full. I declare and proclaim that God is light And in Him is no darkness at all. I repent then and I am transformed, For my sins are blotted out, In the presence of God's refreshing love That cleanses all fear and doubt. Chorus O send out Thy light and Thy truth Let them lead me, let them lead me. For You are my health, my peace, my life, You will show me, You will show me, You will show me.
13.
Tabitha, Arise Words & music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes Peter, come quickly, came the messenger’s shout. Tabitha’s dead and her body’s laid out. But Joppa’s not far from Lydda, her home, If you hurry she may yet live, please hurry, please come! For... Chorus God is Life and commands man to live. It’s not just a promise, but a law that Life gives Of eternal, unending, sweet being that’s pure-- Coexistence with Love in a union that’s sure. Peter arose and came with them then, And as he drew near, heard the weeping’s great din. The widows stood round with the garments she’d sewn, Aching with sorrow for their friend who had gone. Still... Chorus So much good, so much good! All of her life she’d lived as she should. Yet it wasn’t enough to make her survive, But God’s blessed allness reveals man alive. Because… Chorus Peter put them all out, that cried and that wailed, The doubts and the fears that goodness had failed. He knelt down in prayer, then commanded, Arise. He lifted her up as she opened her eyes. Oh yes.. God is Life and commands man to live. It’s not just a promise, but a law that Life gives Of eternal, unending sweet being that pure, Coexistence with Love in a union that’s sure. Surely.. Chorus So sure, so sure.

He is Risen 03:22
He is Risen Words & Music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes Ring the bells on Easter morn Spread the news, sound the horn Glad renewal, life reborn, Hope restored, no need to mourn. Chorus He is risen. He is risen. He is risen, it is true! He is risen. We are risen In one Life forever new. Ring the bells when guilt and shame Cloud all thought of innocence. Jesus saw us free from sin, Saw our pure magnificence. Chorus Ring the bells when pain and fear Overwhelm the strength to pray. Every healing of our Lord Is ours as well and here today. Chorus Ring the bells when sadness says Our hearts will never sing again. Love will always find a way To show us Life can never end. Chorus Chorus

The Blessing 03:26
The Blessing Words & music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes I can’t help but wonder if there’d been enough blessing Enough blessing for both brothers what would Esau have done? Would hatred have stopped before it ever got started? Would Esau have shared the wealth of the eldest son? Chorus We all need the blessing of our Father’s dear love. We all need the blessing and we all need to bless. We all need the fullness of the blessing that’s ours. Thank goodness that our Father can never give less. I can’t help but wonder if there’d been enough blessing Enough blessing for both brothers what would Jacob have done? Would deceit have stopped before it ever got started? Would Jacob have stayed home and not had to run? Chorus I can’t help but wonder if there’s not enough blessing Enough blessing for all brothers so that war can be done. Can’t we learn from those brothers that love is the blessing And in the end what matters is that all men are one. Let us banish self-seeking and self-preservation, Self-interest, self-pity, self-justification, Self-love, self-will, and self-condemnation. Let us say in our hearts, I have enough! Can’t we learn from those brothers that love is the blessing? And in the end what matters is that all men are one.

Build the Wall Jerusalem Words & music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes I will stand upon my watch, a weapon in one hand. Build the wall, Jerusalem, with God our guardian. God has given me this work so none can stay my hand. I will not come down nor cease ‘til the wall stands strong and grand. Chorus Build the wall, Jerusalem. Build against all odds. Build though fear and doubt assail; Nothing threatens God. I will stand upon my watch, building day and night, Rallying my tired thought, tempted to take flight. Apathy would stop me, mocking make me hide. I will not come down nor cease til the wall stands true and right. Chorus I will stand upon my watch till the gates are fully set. Not a chink in this defense--no place for hatred's threat. Much would argue for delay till all the goals are met. I will not come down nor cease till the wall stands fully blessed. Chorus Chorus

Blind Bartimaeus Words & music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes Jesus, oh Jesus have mercy on me. Thou son of David, I cannot see. I beg here by the roadside; they tell me not to speak, But I have heard that you can heal. Please Lord, have mercy on me. Chorus Lord, that I may receive my sight. Lord, that I may see the light. Who is that shouting? Christ questioned them. His faith is expectant, tell him to come. I can hear his cry, his need is very great. Tell him to rise and come. There’s mercy here for him. Chorus He came without a guiding hand. No arm was there to help him stand. And yet he thrust the past aside, His beggar’s cloak was left behind. What do you want? The master asked; Half question, half command. Chorus Go your way, your faith has made you whole. Go your way, the Father’s in control. Go your way, your faith has made you whole. Go your way, there’s mercy for your soul. Chorus Lord, that I may see the light.

As In Adam All Die Words & music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes Adam, where are you? Have you fallen from grace? Have you eaten the apple of sin? When you look to the body for pleasure, find pain? Turn again to the kingdom within. Chorus As in Adam all die, So in Christ shall all live. There's no Adam, just Christ, Just one man, the one that God gives. Eve, where are you? Were you tempted by want? Are you filled with guilt and with shame? Did you fall for the lie that there's evil and good? Turn again to the oneness I AM! Chorus Child, where are you? Were you born of the flesh? Are you destined to struggle and cry? Are you saddled with weakness that ancestors had? Turn to Life and away from this lie. Chorus Stand fast in liberty! Christ has made us free. Be not entangled with bondage. Turn again to your innocency. Chorus Just one man, the one that God gives.

See His design, His Kingdom sure, replete. Marvelous, so fair and fine. Perfect, whole, complete Chorus Chorus

The Morning Meal Words & music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes There stood a lone man by the Sea of Tiberius And he called to the fishermen, children have ye meat? Your nets are empty; you must cast them on Spirit¹s side. So, they cast with expectation and the fish, they were replete. Chorus Come and dine, I have fish on the coals. Come and dine without effort or toil. Come and dine as I fed the multitudes, For I am the Christ, the full reflection of Soul. Then Jesus broke bread; the disciples did eat, And fish he gave them, so they¹d know it was he. And none dared ask, for they knew it was the Christ. He had triumphed over death proving Life is liberty. Chorus So when they had dined Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, do you love me for who I am? Peter said, Yes Lord, you know how much I love you. Peter, if you do, you will feed my lambs. Peter if you love me it will not be human love You won¹t deny or be afraid when the challenges come. You will see we are one flock and every lamb is in Love’s keep. Simon, son of Jonas, feed my sheep. Chorus For I am the Christ, the full reflection of Soul.

Strength for today, bright hope for tomorrow, Blessings all mine with ten thousand beside. Chorus All I have needed Thy hand hath provided. Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.

about

The Solo Committee, Susan Booth Mack Snipes, Carey Loomis and Sue Loomis sang in church, wrote songs, and toured together from 2002 to 2009. This album is a compilation of Solo Committee songs that haven't been published on other CDs we have released. You may have visited us when we were part of a small Christian Science Society in St. Louis, where we wrote music, often new, for the weekly Sunday service. We have written hundreds of original songs. Some of them were favorites, but never made it onto an album.
For years after our last album in 2009 we thought about getting together one last time to record these songs and in 2021 it finally happened. Our fabulous recording engineer and artistic partner in St Louis, Peter Stevens, was willing to take on the project. So in March we gathered for a full week of intensive but joyful rehearsal, and then headed to St. Louis for 5 days of recording. We got 19 new recordings, and combined them with 6 previously recorded songs. We are happy to release this 25 song album.
We are grateful for the loving help and support of friends and family. Many of these songs include an extended Solo Committee group. We were blessed to have the calming presence, organizational skills, and the beautiful voices of Lizzie Loomis and Katie Walter. Indeed, some of the songs would have not made it on the recording had they not been there. We were joined digitally from Brooklyn by our bass player, Dan Loomis, who adds his unique, artistic bass lines to many songs. Finally, we are so grateful to Judith Felch for the visual inspiration of her wonderful artwork. Bob Snipes was our selfless support crew member for this project.
