about

The title song of this album reflects my love of Gospel music as it so often seems to reach deep into the heart of prayer and lead us to the rock of the allness of one infinite God, good!

lyrics

Lead Me to the Rock
Words: Lead Me to the Rock by Susan Booth Mack Snipes
Rock of Ages by Frederic W Root, adapted from a hymn by A. M. Toplady
Music: Susan Booth Mack Snipes, Samuel S. Wesley
Rock of Ages from the “Christian Science Hymnal”

Down in the depths of great despair
I still can feel Your presence there.
Foundation sure, oh All-in-all,
You lift me up above earth’s thrall.

Chorus
Lead me, (Lead me)
To the Rock, (to the Rock,)
From where, (From where)
I am come, (I am come)
Lead me, (Lead me)
To the truth, (To the truth)
My steady Rock,
My constant home.

Up in the height of highest prayer,
I ask to know Your perfect care.
Foundation sure, oh All-in-all,
In starting here I cannot fall.

Chorus

No matter where I go today
Truth will remain my steadfast stay.
Foundation sure, oh All-in-all,
Firm on the Rock, I’m standing tall.

Chorus

Rock of Ages, Truth divine,
Be Thy strength forever mine;
Let me rest secure on Thee,
Safe above life’s raging sea.
Rock of Ages, Truth divine,
Be Thy strength forever mine.

Lead me, (Rock of Ages)
To the Rock, (Truth divine)
From where, (Be Thy strength)
I am come, (forever mine)
Lead me, (Rock of Ages)
To the truth, (Truth divine)
My steady Rock,
My constant home.
My steady Rock,
My constant home.

It was a precious group of people, and Susan, a Christian Science practitioner, decided to drag out her old guitar and write some church solos. She soon was joined by Carey and Sue Loomis and The Solo Committee was born. Over the years they have produced 11 albums. ... more
